The correct motive for doing business is not to maximise profit. A goal of maximum profits is no guarantee for a constant drive for excellence and for sustainability as often short-term goals are chased.

The conventional profit motive, driving for maximum profit is not in line with balanced responsibility. There is a better way - optimum profit leading to ultimate sustainability.

From a business management perspective, maximum profit as a point of departure could be short-sighted (e.g. following an incorrect pricing policy or straining customer relations by decisions that hound profit as a foremost goal).

The Accelerated Corporate Development Program works towards achieving ultimate sustainability bringing into balance resources, human needs and the environment.

The correct motive is to serve customers with excellence but all actions are controlled by the sound principles of profitability. It merely requires a mind change.

DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS FOR NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS

Not-for-profit organizations are usually run by people with a passion for a good cause and lesser aptitude for applying sound business practices. Significant sums of money and resources often dissipate in a large black hole because of inefficiencies, or lack of integrity. Often very little can be shown for donated precious scarce resources.

Not-for-profit organizations - grouped under the heading of Community Benefit Organizations (CBO) - will be evaluated in order to compile a list of worthy operators (willing to improve where improvement is required). They will be the cream of the crop (small to large) and will be assisted to keep on performing with excellence. Consequently, funds will be generated for them and donors will find it very difficult to provide resources for any CBO, not part of this membership body (association of reputed CBO's) comprising members with proven track records.

DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS FOR THE GOVERNMENT

Governments function on different tiers (such as national, provincial and local). Politicians need to fulfil their election promises to their electorate. Gone are the days when politicians make promises they never intended, and are unable or unwilling to fulfil. In future, each promise will be regarded as a (verbal but legal) contract and it will be recorded and its fulfilment carefully monitored and evaluated for feedback to their constituency. Political heads and the civil servants responsible for the execution of policies will be held accountable to their voting public.

The Government will be assisted with constructive feedback on how service delivery is currently experienced and what good work must be maintained (and how to do so), how to improve where necessary (and how to do so).
