Community Benefit Organizations (CBO) help people in need to help themselves

RESPONSIBLE DONORS DEMAND TRANSPARENCY,  ACCOUNTABILITY AND RESTITUTION

A CBO THAT IS ABLE TO PROVE IT IS DELIVERING MEANINGFUL AND  VERIFIABLE  BENEFITS TO ITS
COMMUNITY AND DILIGENT EXECUTES ITS BUSINESS PLAN, AS SUBMITTED, WILL ALWAYS BE FAVOURED

We use Accelerated Corporate Development Program to assist:
 (i) donors, (ii) CBO's
and (iii) communities to
reach their different goals and needs

  1. Donors, having specified their conditions for grants in exact terms, will have scientific proof to what extent their specifications have been met.
  2. CBO will execute their mission in line with their promises committed to in their business plans, revolving around the specific needs of the community
    it elected to serve.
  3. Communities, having conveyed their specific needs, will express to what extent the activities of CBO have delivered meaningful and visible
benefits to them related to their expressed needs.

The methodology evaluates and controls five issues.  It is critical that the performance (the outcome) of these critical success factors are evaluated in order to
continuously improve delivery of benefits by following the proactive remedial action – leading to:

  • Performance Index (indicating a CBO ability to have satisfied, or surpassed the expectations of the target group they are serving).
This Performance Index will be communicated to current, or potential benefactors, signifying a CBO ability to consistently deliver on promises
(indicative of their trustworthiness and competence).
  • A confidential  Performance Improvement Proposal,  delivered to each CBO, assisting it to improve its Performance Index. This report contains
Fundamental Management Information, correctly prioritising remedial steps that are evaluated again and again (biannually), to judge the
    effectiveness of remedies employed.

The Performance Index is a gateway to funds for CBO as donors will be encouraged to use it as a guide for distinguishing between worthy and rogue applicants
while the Performance Improvement Proposal prioritises remedial action – really assisting CBO managers to become, or stay worthy beneficiaries.

All responsible donors would demand this service once it is introduced and would shy away from granting funds to entities not having the same transparency,
accountability and willingness to fix mistakes (restitution) as explained above.

BENEFITS TO DONORS

A REPUTABLE INSTITUTE TAKING THE RISK OUT OF GIVING

We could assist donors in executing their social responsibility in a more fulfilling manner.  Some of the benefits donors will be experiencing are:

  1. Considering applications for financial assistance only from CBO able to deliver on their promises to donors as well as their target community
  2. Discarding the multitude of opportunistic applications wasting valuable time
  3. Donors receiving applications in the form of professionally prepared business plans, endorsed by the Institute, for a project the
community really is in need of
  4. The ability to choose between applicants based on scientifically computed individual Performance Indexes, indicating their track record and
    level of proficiency
  5. To set minimum performance standards for a specific minimum score for a Performance Index
  6. This minimum score is a cut-off point below which donors will not consider applications
  7. CBO are judged by the very target community they pledged to serve in their applications.
  8. Donors receive concise, authoritative and formal reports on the performance of a CBO from grass roots level
  9. Donors will know that their funds are being used precisely for the purpose outlined in their business plan and
  10. That the same business plan has not been funded repeatedly by others

We believe donors will be excited about the assistance the Institute is offering, but we need the co-operation of all donors with the same
desire to act in their best interest.

BENEFITS TO CBO & COMMUNITIES

WINNING THE WAR IN THE BOARDROOM - DONOR FUNDS DIMINISH DIVIDENDS,
BONUSES AND SALARY INCREASES

Many are trying to generate funds but donors become irritated because they are:

  1. Inundated with requests from an ever-increasing pool of organisations
  2. Frustrated by duplicated missions and documents that are not clear
  3. Unable to distinguish between worthy organisations
  4. Spending an unhealthy amount of time and money in an effort to act responsibly towards their shareholders by trying to control their donations.
  5. Generally biased towards applicants because they are normally “people with a calling”, often lacking a variety of business management and
    implementation skills.

We are able to offer CBO and the communities they serve the following benefits:

  1. The community will give their verdict to independent evaluators whether a CBO fulfil the promises it has made to receive funds
  2. Donors will receive feedback whether, and to what degree, the goals of the CBO have been achieved – building a track record
  3. CBO are assisted with management information to increase their effectiveness and efficiency
  4. Unworthy CBO who are exploiting the good reputation of others will be weeded out.
  5. Consistently low performers will be penalised (leading to lack of support) and
  6. Consistently good performers will be rewarded (leading to increased support) from
  7. Donors being guided by performance indexes, independently and scientifically computed for CBO

In line with the drive of donors to spend their money more responsibly the Institute ensures CBO are:

  1. Fulfilling the promises that they have made to the communities they are serving – as will be confirmed (or not confirmed)
    by the community themselves
  2. Fulfilling the promises that they have made to donors, who donated money for their own set of reasons
  3. Assisted with management information (in the form of Performance Improvement Proposals) to increase their effectiveness
    and efficiency, in order to
  4. Improve their track record
  5. Served with a range of business services that will drive its operating costs down – stretching limited funds further.
